Dr. Robert Young Bio
Dr. Robert Young Ph.D., D.Sc., in Microbiology and Nutrition
A pioneer of analyzing living cells, Dr. Robert Young was fascinated with the striking differences between diseased and healthy cells. Under a microscope, unhealthy cells appear dark and misshapen. Healthy blood cells, however, are round, vibrant in color, and practically glow in comparison to diseased cells. What creates this contrast? What is this nearly tangible inner light?
An answer began to form through years of research, and Dr. Robert Young found support for his studies in the findings of several American and European scientists. One scientific researcher, Dr. Bircher-Benner, concisely summarized the relationship between light and cells: "The absorption and organization of sunlight, the essence of life, is derived almost exclusively through plants. Since light is the driving force of every cell in our bodies, that is why we need green plants."
Already convinced of the overwhelmingly healthy (and underwhelmingly utilized) benefits plants contribute to our diet, Dr. Robert Young and his wife, Shelley Redford Young, set out to harness this natural cache of light and direct its energies to individual human cells. The result was a family of natural, plant and mineral-based nutrition supplements, each "energized" to reflect its origin from the sun.
"It's what our mission and products are all about," explains Shelley Young. "Transferring the inner light of plants to our bodies' cells." And nutritional company InnerLight International was born.
Dr. Robert O. Young, Ph.D., D.Sc., in Microbiology and Nutrition, has devoted his life to research in the causes of "disease," and to helping people balance their life and well-being (which he calls the "innerlight"). As a microbiologist and nutritionist, he has investigated the links between over-acidification of the body and the development of morbid microorganisms (bacteria, yeast, fungi, and molds), whose metabolic poisons produce the wide range of symptoms we generally call "diseases." His mission is to create a greater understanding of the necessity for correct acid-alkaline balance in the body, based on healthy lifestyle, nutritious food, and nutritional supplementation.
Dr. Young heads the InnerLight Biological Research Center, dedicated to the healing through good nutrition, and has gained national recognition for his research into diabetes, cancer, leukemia, and AIDS. He is a member of the American Society of Microbiologists and the American Naturopathic Association as well as a featured speaker at recent Anthony Robbins' LIFE MASTERY programs.
