Kristin Whitcoe completed her Bachelor of Nursing degree
at the University of Delaware and Master of Science in Psychiatric
Nursing degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Her duties
as a nurse included administering a lot of prescribed medication
to people, who often resisted taking their medications or seemed
to experience more symptoms related to taking so many medications.
Kristin was inspired to write this book based on her personal
health experiences, nursing career and parenting responsibilities.
Over the past 9 years of marriage and family living, Kristin
has refined her professional and instinctive nursing and holistic
skills at home with her husband Chris and their children Calvin
(7), Cosette (5), and Kurt (3), with almond milk included in
their family's repertoire for wellness.
Kristin
enjoys the simple pleasures such as sunshine, warm weather,
baseball, family hikes, hugs, smiles, and dish fairies. She
likes to run, jump, play, cut, paste, color, draw, construct,
and read books. Kristin's kitchen has a steady supply of almonds,
not only for milk, but for snacks, salads, and sweets as well.
She envisions the day when almond milk is an available option
to school children worldwide.
Married
to a technically savvy husband, who has shared much of his computer
wisdom with her over the years, Kristin has discovered the wonders
of the internet, including website development and the age of
information. She has learned to create websites while "testing"
Chris' work. He, too, has tested Kristin's work with plentiful
samples of their family's almond milk.
