Mount Tremper,
NY
Route 28, west of Woodstock -- in Mt. Tremper, about 20 miles west of the Thruway
More information: www.emersonplace.com/oldsite/emporium/kaleidoscope.htm
A converted grain silo houses the 60-foot tall Kaatskill Kaleidoscope which opened in 1996 and is billed as the world's largest kaleidoscrope. Designed by 60s psychedelic artist Isaac Abrams and his son, the $250,000 Kaleidoscrope is the brainchild of Catskills developer Dean Gitter. The silo fits about twenty people who lean back against padded cushions to enjoy the mesmerizing 10 minute sight and sound show above. Three shows were originally developed for the Kaleidoscrope and continue to entertain audiences today. America, The House We Live In depicts a condensed history of America. Metamorphosis celebrates the passage of the seasons in the Catskills, and Hexagon Holiday, a winter masterpiece.

of rolling hills, beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, and peaceful woodlands.
It is a car-free environment, a walker's paradise. A place to slow down, reflect,
breathe. Omega is just two hours from New York City, and with easy shuttle service
from airports and train and bus stations.
Omega was founded in 1977 at a time when holistic health, psychological inquiry,
world music and art, meditation, and new forms of spiritual practice were just
budding in American culture. The mission was as simple as it was large: To look
everywhere for the most effective strategies and inspiring traditions that might
help people bring more meaning and vitality into their lives. Omega offers over
300 workshops and professional trainings. While Omega has grown, our mission
remains the same. Omega is not aligned with any particular healing method or
spiritual tradition. Our programs feature all of the world's wisdom traditions
and are committed to offering people an opportunity to explore their own path
to better health, personal growth, and inner peace.
