The 100 Hectare (300 acre) farm was established in 1971 by Dr John Fielder. It lies in a peaceful valley with a natural bush setting on the banks of the Clohesy River. The farm, which is the campus for the Academy of Natural Living, is located 45km (35 miles) from Cairns, approximately a one-hour drive, and 16km (12 miles) from the nearest township of Kuranda.

The farm is a healing sanctuary, and is the perfect place to come for rest, relaxation, recuperation, and/or rejuvenation. If you are truly interested in improving your health and are seeking to avoid or regress degenerative disease problems, you will find that Nature Cure as practised here is truly an "alternative to all medicines"

To enable guests to achieve optimum health, we provide conditions that are as near to ideal as practical. These are: pure water, sleep, wholesome food, exercise while performing creative useful work, sunshine, rest and relaxation, play and recreation, and a pleasant and natural environment.

By following natural law and providing the necessary conditions, the body's own innate wisdom will restore optimum health. We teach and encourage obedience to natural law by practical demonstration, discussion, guidance, and - most importantly - by example.

Fasting can be undertaken (but is not mandatory, and is sometimes contra-indicated) under the supervision and care of John Fielder.

Guests are welcome to attend the weekly classes of the Academy of Natural Living's Lifestyle Consultant's Course in Natural Living, which are held at the farm.

Dr John L. Fielder, DC, DO, ND, will supervise your stay at the farm. He is a certified teacher of Biogenic Living and Life Science, and a lecturer in the History, Philosophy, & Practice of Nature Cure, Fasting, Natural Hygiene, and Biogenic Living.

John has over 35 years experience in the supervision of fasting, and can deftly ease patients through the crises that inevitably occur at these times.

As well as being the founder of the farm, John founded the Academy of Natural Living, is a founder of the Natural Health Society of South Australia, and is a member of: the British Register of Naturopaths, the Incorporated Society of Registered Naturopaths in the UK, and the International Association of Hygienic Physicians in the US.
