Dear
Rhio,
Thank you for sending that story. I am touched beyond words. Not only for the
inspiration and humility that it pulls from me, but because it is an example
of what one individual can do. Humbly, I can see myself and my actions in every
example of these people, from the old woman to the holier-than-thou's to the
fearful to the man who gave $20 to the man who gave his shoes. In each of us,
there is the potential for these choices. I hope that I have the courage to
take off my shoes (metaphorically or physically) when the need arises.
Thank you also for your continuing inspiration. You are a special addition to
my life.
Blessings,
Pohara Joy S Heart

Dearest
Rhio,
I deeply respect your prayer for peace, but I'm more of a practical pragmatist.
I believe that the woes of the world come about in the course of our social
evolution, for being dominated by a sense of emergency in survival that the
human male instinctually uses to exercise sexual dominance, which then becomes
hierarchal dominance. There is no longer any real need for this sense of emergency
to continue to exist, but the habits derived thereof linger painfully and dangerously
on, in both genders!
More women must be voted into high political office for the female's natural,
here-to-fore undervalued, nurturing instinct to become more pervasive among
us, and then to more adeptly address the amazing potential for peace in our
day. Women need to reach past the competitive
patriarchal behaviors they've needed to achieve prominence thus far, eventually
allowing their motherly wisdom to become a more evident behavior model for men
to own up to. This represents the basis for a new form of civilization (very
much in accord with live-foodism, if the hearth truly represents the seat of
civilization as we currently know it).
There is a website that tries to address this political angle: www.thewhitehouseproject.org
Bless you for being just exactly who you are, Rhio!
Love,
Raymond

Dear Rhio-
Just getting to reading some Dec. messages I had overlooked, and I came across
the poignant, "Only a man" story you shared as a Christmas greeting.
Thank you very much, Rhio. There's such a beautiful human truth contained therein-it
reminds me of the story of the widow's mite-she, in her poverty, gave all she
had, whereas all the others, of their riches, gave just a bit......
Thank you, once again, for sharing the "Only a Man" story.
Peace!
Myrna
